Your Privacy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 October 2026

We believe in keeping things simple. We only collect the data needed to make learning fun, and we never sell your data. Free accounts see a few clearly labelled ads that are not personalised.

What We Collect

  • Account Info: Your name and email address.
  • Learning records: School standard, language preference, maths and science quiz results and progress, Chess puzzle/game results and lesson progress, and generated stories.
  • Technical information: IP addresses and request information used to operate the website, enforce daily limits and protect accounts.
  • Your private friend games and moves are stored on our server. When a guest joins, we also store their IP address and a hashed game-access token to protect the room.

Who We Share It With

We only share data with essential services to run the app:

  • Stripe: Processes payments securely.
  • Google Gemini: Receives prompts or learning information to generate stories and AI feedback where enabled. Text you submit may contain personal information; avoid entering private details.
  • Text-to-Speech Services: Receive story text to generate narration, including any information entered into the story.
  • Self-Hosted Servers: Your data lives safely on our own databases.
  • Cloudflare: Delivers the website and processes technical request information, including IP addresses. Workers AI receives an image description derived from the story prompt to generate its cover.
  • Google AdSense: shows ads to free accounts on a few pages. When an ad loads, Google receives basic technical data such as your IP address and browser type.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your language preference. Free accounts see ads on a few pages, never during a quiz, a story or a game. These ads come from Google AdSense, which may set cookies to limit how often an ad appears and to prevent fraud. Ads are requested with child-directed treatment, so they are not personalised and not based on your activity. Family plan members see no ads.

Your Control

You can edit your profile or permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Account Settings.

Stories you choose to share publicly may be cached and viewed by other users via the community story pool.
